This week, I decided to watch Netflix’s 6 Underground. Now, why haven’t I watched this earlier?
Six people (or seven…) decided to “die” to be no one and change the world. But these seven people have really brilliant skills – a billionaire inventor, a doctor, a former CIA agent, a parkour expert (and a thief), a hitman and a former soldier. Basically, a bunch of people you will not expect could work as a team to… well… save the world.
It’s one of the most entertaining movies I’ve watched thus far this year. Ryan Reynolds, as always, is a comedy man while shooting and kicking people’s arses. Sometimes, I think he’s a living and breathing Deadpool. He’s just not getting out of that role. It’s not exactly a bad thing. He’s just really really brilliant in that role and really funny. The rest of the cast compliment him and each other as well.
As it’s directed by Michael Bay, you would expect a lot of action-packed stuff with explosions all over the place and cars rolling over everywhere. But because it’s Netflix, he has the freedom to really do other stuff he probably can’t do in a cinema – lots of blood, heads chopped off. Really, I almost thought I’m watching Deadpool. It is why you have to enter your PIN number before you can watch the movie – it’s rated M18.
But if you are okay seeing lots of blood, heads exploding and eyes pulled out of their sockets, then go and watch the movie on a screen near you… as long as you have Netflix. If you don’t, well, you can always steal someone’s account.
I really do recommend it. It’s super entertaining. So, I’m giving it a 4.5 out of 5 – minus 0.5 because no movie is perfect even though I feel like it is and I hope it does not have a sequel because sequels make everything look crappy. Unless there’s a reason to do so.
And did I talk about the kick-arse soundtrack? No? Yeah, the songs in the movie are fitting and gets you pumped up. Actually, it would be a good gym playlist.
