πŸŒ™ The After-Hours Reset: Week No. 2 – Crowns, Closures and Honours

πŸ“ The Week In Review

Wow! I really have to applaud myself that I am really following Perfect Crown as the show is ongoing. That was not very me. I can’t remember the last K-drama that I’ve done this. But I really kept up with the show. Yes, it means I did finish the latest episode 6. That episode was breath-taking, to say the least. I felt bad for my soft toys for getting whacked because the owner was giggling so hard. I wonder what is in store in the second half of the show though. I also just finished Love for Love’s Sake. Yes, I should also applaud myself for finally taking the plunge and just cried and the heart was mended back watching the last episode. Silly sweet boys! I also continued with Honour. It’s an interesting show – girl-bosses but with trauma.

🀩 The Highlights

  • Perfect Crown (Ep 5-6): ⚑ – K-dramas are truly back with this show. I’ve read comments from viewers who did not watch K-dramas for years until this very show. Depending on how the second half of the show plays out, this drama could very much win Best Drama.
  • Love For Love’s Sake (Ep 7-8): πŸ¦‹ – Yes, I finally finished this and I did not regret watching this at all. They are so cute. I wrote a review of it here.
  • Honour (Ep 2-3): ⚑ – I am intrigued by this show. Power moves by the 3 main ladies and kudos to them doing what they do. But one of the side characters is starting to piss me off and made me want to fast-forward her story but her case is the beginning of everything that will unfold later, I’m sure. Ugh!

πŸ’– The Midnight Mood

  • πŸ˜‹: Still in my diet era! The last food I ate was my dinner cooked by my mom. So mommy’s food, guys!
  • 🎢: Since yesterday, I was creating a Spotify playlist for my normal workday with NCT Dream songs after some hiatus because yours truly couldn’t listen to their songs without bawling after the latest news of Mark leaving the entire group of NCT. Finally, I got the courage of listening to their songs again and decided to create a K-pop playlist of sort with mostly their songs. But I won’t be putting NCT Dream song here. It would be Killing Me by IKON, which is in the playlist.

πŸ‘€ Looking Ahead

I think I need to start Yumi’s Cells Season 3 or Absolute Value of Romance or Love Upon A Time. Or all three. I don’t know anymore!

πŸŒˆπŸ“Ί TV Review: Love For Love’s Sake (2024)

Press [Start] to reveal: Spoilers

πŸ”’ Seasons/Episodes Covered

Season 1, Episodes 1-8

✨ Quick Spark

Tae Myung-ha, a 29-year-old, was transported into a virtual game as a 19-year-old. He was tasked to bring happiness to a seemingly-cold school athlete Cha Yeo Woon. To help him navigate this world was the innocent Ahn Kyung Hoon and the one who had a major crush on Myung-ha, Chun Sang Won.

πŸͺ The Hook

At first look, this is like any BL drama with two school boys that gets right into any BL fans’ fantasies. But once the episodes go by and especially towards the end, it became much deeper. It is a second shot in life for Myung-ha. Of course, the thing that made me stay and continue watching was the concept of a virtual game and Myung-ha having to work so hard to make Yeo Woon happy. While that was the mission of the game, eventually, Myung-ha was also at his happiest, with new found friends and falling in love.

πŸ§ͺ Character Chemistry

We all have to admit that one of the factors for great chemistry is also looking good together. Lee Tae Vin and Cha Joo Wan definitely did. Both are absolutely adorable. Myung-ha couldn’t help himself from falling in love with Yeo Woon. And it’s so adorable watching him just fall for him no matter how much he tried not to. In turn, Yeo Woon knew Myung-ha cared for him and he tried his best to do what he could for Myung-ha. As much as Yeo Woon needed Myung-ha to give him hope, Myung-ha didn’t realize he needed Yeo Woon as much and he’s the person he wished for in his first life.

πŸšΆπŸ½β€βž‘οΈ Pacing Check

It is just nice. Though maybe if it has an extra episode or scene or something to explain why Choi Jin Jo was the only one in that world who remembered Myung-ha when he disappeared, it would be better. There were lots of theories from the viewers but it would be good to have an explanation for it. Some theories was that she was his ex-girlfriend and from his previous life and the disappearance might not have an impact on her, but I don’t find that theory plausible. My own theory? Myung-ha did want her to take care of Yeo Woon so I’m guessing she had to remember Myung-ha because one of the reasons that Yeo Woon was happy was Myung-ha, which he himself didn’t realize.

πŸ’€ Final Sleepy Rating

πŸ¦‹ Heart-Flutter – I was literally punching my soft toys and kicking my blanket and giggling

✍🏽 Notable Mention

I just found out that Tae Vin is 30-years-old. Hello what? He looked so young that he looked unbelievable acting as a 29-year-old than a 19-year-old.
