Caught this movie earlier and let’s just start with the fact that I cried, no, sobbed. Animated movies that tugged at my heartstrings are good movies, I tell you that! But what I cannot tell you is what makes me cry because I would spoil the movie for you.
Review: Grimm Tales: For Young and Old

Grimm Tales: For Young and Old by Philip Pullman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
“Grimm Tales: For Young and Old” is a retelling of 53 fairy tales from the Grimm brothers including popular ones that we know of such as Cinderella, Snow White and Red Riding Hood.
Review: The Bachman Books

The Bachman Books by Stephen King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book took me ages to finish it. If you’ve seen the book, you would know how thick it is. I would call it a dictionary even.
Movie Review: Maleficent
Over the weekends, I caught the latest movie, Maleficent and let’s just say, I absolutely love what I would call twisted fairy tales – the retelling of the fairy tales that you loved when you were just tiny lil’ kiddos, with a twist. This movie is exactly what it’s about.
Movie Review: X-Men: Days of Future Past
Man oh man! If I can describe this movie in one word: Whiplash – a word used by Quicksilver that I’m going to borrow here. If you have not yet watched the movie and going to watch it, you need to come in with an open mind and know that everything that you have watched of the X-Men movie franchise for the many past years will be wiped out. Zilch. Basically, if you come in to the theatre with amnesia of what had happened in the past movies, with the exception X-Men: First Class, that’d be brilliant! I mean, I’m eating chocolate rolls while writing this review because my brain just turned into a mush after watching this latest movie of my favourite bunch of mutants.
Movie Review: Godzilla
From the poster above, you will see the actors’ names and all but let’s be honest here, after watching the movie, all these actors are just co-stars. The main lead of this movie is Godzilla itself. Also, this version of Godzilla is actually cute. No, really, I want my own Godzilla. Can I have this version of Godzilla to be my own Godzilla? Can I have a plushie of this Godzilla?
What’s On Stage: Grease
I caught Grease, the musical, playing here in Singapore a few days ago and if you do not know what Grease is all about, where have you been?
Anyway, Grease is made popular by the movie of the same name starring John Travolta as Danny Zuko and Olivia Newton-John as Sandy. However, it was actually a Broadway show before it turned into a movie and I have to say that I prefer the movie than the stage version.
Movie Review: The Amazing Spiderman 2
Earlier today was the second time I watched this movie, partly because I promised my 9-year-old nephew that I would bring him to watch the movie, which he did for more than half of the movie before he fell asleep, and partly because I wanted to see Dane DeHaan’s face one more time. Yes, everyone, I have a new celebrity crush.
Review: About a Boy

About a Boy by Nick Hornby
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Strangely, of all Nick Hornby’s books that I’ve picked up, I didn’t pick this one up first. No siree! The first book that makes me fall in love with Nick Hornby was actually “How To be Good”. So, when I saw this book in the bookstore, I was like: “The title seems familiar” and like a book hit on the head (hur hur), it occurred to me that it’s the movie. But of course, the book comes first before the movie. But yes, I was slow.
