Review: Red Rising

Red Rising
Red Rising by Pierce Brown
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is what happens when you don’t read the publication year/date/whatever – you didn’t realize that the book is super new that the next book is not out yet and now you’re gorydamn depressed because oh my god, what is going to happen?

That is exactly what’s happening to me right now. I am feeling so lost and the last time I felt that way was “Harry Potter” when I had to wait year after year for the next book to come out. Movie Review: Step Up All In

step_up_all_in_xlgSingapore is probably the last few countries to release this movie, I don’t even know why. But anyway, I watched it because of Moose (Adam Sevani). That’s the only reason why I watch this dance franchise.

Honestly, the plot has always been the same. The main character is down and out but has this immense passion and talent in dance so he/she does not give up on that and go forth and join dance battles. In the midst of all that, he/she would suffer some setbacks but would eventually overcome it all.

Movie Review: Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno

Rurouni-Kenshin-Kyoto-Fire-poster (1)I watched this yesterday and was overwhelmed by how awesome it was and forgo writing this review to watch the first movie. Oops?

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno is the sequel to the first movie and it’s based on the best-selling manga and anime. If you are not familiar with the manga and/or anime, where have you been? Rurouni Kenshin (also known as Samurai X) was so popular when I was in school. I used to watch the anime so many times because I love it so much. And I had/have a big crush on Kenshin Himura and told myself if only I could marry an anime character. Lo and behold, they did the live-action movie and… I still want to marry the character.

Review: Son of a Witch

Son of a Witch
Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Well, this book took too long for me to finish – partly because I was distracted by YouTube and partly because I found it boring and slightly confusing in the beginning. But I finally did get how the book is structured and actually enjoyed it. It’s kind of like baking a cake – in the beginning, you have to put the flour, egg and sugar and mix them all up nicely before you put other more interesting ingredients to bake whatever cake you want. This book is just like that.
