This Siti Never Sleeps At Night

Living my main character moment

Lockdown Special Review: When The Weather is Fine (TV Series)

This has to be a feat for me. I have got to achieve my own life medal of finishing a drama in 2 days and 1 night. How did I manage to watch this drama in an even shorter number of days than Itaewon Class?

In When The Weather is Fine, two people found each other amidst a really crappy life that they have. Two people who found warmth in their cold life, which was fitting the weather they found each other in – winter. Will their love come and go as the winter or will it withstand it?

I wonder why the drama has quite a low ratings, aside from it being a cable drama, because frankly, Itaewon Class is also a cable drama but was received well by the general public. Maybe it’s not to the taste of the Korean public but it sure is to mine. It almost reminds me of reading a Japanese book – aesthetically pleasing and peaceful even with the chaos unfolding. The whole premise of the drama is winter so it should be cold and dreary but no, it’s just filled with warmth, just like one of the main characters, Lim Eun Seop played by Seo Kang Joon. The fact that Park Min-young, who played Mok Hae Won, looked pretty in her winter clothes is also a plus. She looks like a character in a manga coming to life.

Some people may say that it’s a slow drama but actually, it’s not. There is quite a number of twists and turns in the story that made you want to watch further and further to find out the what, why, when, how, who. Which is probably the very reason why I finished this is 2 days and 1 night.

The drama also has little easter eggs for those who have watched another drama called Extraordinary You, which is another fave of mine.

So, I’m giving When The Weather is Fine a 5 out of 5 because everything wraps up well at the end and now that it’s midnight, I can go to sleep well. Good night!

Siti is just simply a Singaporean girl who has nothing better to do than watch movies and TV shows, listen to music and read books because, let's face it, what else can she, a non-adventurer girl, do in her spare time in this small island? This blog is for her to post her more "professional" reviews of movies, TV shows, books and music and as such, this blog is not spoiler-free so be warned. She may tend to get a little fangirly but fangirling is part of her life that she would not like to get rid of. When she is not sitting on her bottom doing this, you can find her going to work as a project manager in an online research panel company. However, that is the more boring (if that is even remotely possible) side of her life that she does not want to ever share.
