How can an artiste upped the ante after Katy Perry crashed birthday parties for her “Birthday” music video? Become wedding crashers! Which is exactly what Maroon 5 did, to the surprise of the brides and grooms.
At first glance, it seems real with the shocked looks from the families, relatives and friends of the brides and grooms and Adam Levine himself spoke to the camera of what they were about to do. But a quick Google (oh, Google, what would I do without you?) revealed that almost everything is staged. Horrors!
Well, fake or not, the video is actually fun and sweet, just like the song itself. And does knowing that they are all fake change anything? Personally, I don’t think so. We all know that most music videos are all acted out, no matter how “real” they seem sometimes.
What I also like about the video is that it’s actually pretty mixed and not just the token “white Caucasian” couples. Quite inclusive, I must say. It would be a bigger plus if there are LGBT couples in but oh well, we can’t have everything.
All in all, I enjoyed it. Love it or hate it? Siti loves it!
