I would like to call this movie “Taken 2.5” – same type of movie but in mid-air.
Non-Stop is about a Federal Air Marshal named Bill Marks (played by Liam Neeson), who was grappled with his troubled past – divorce and death of his young daughter – and alcoholism. He was stuck in mid-air trying to save 150 passengers and crew from being killed every 20 minutes and clearing up his own name, dirtied by the terrorist who managed to make the hijacking looked like it was being done by Bill Marks himself.
There’s nothing more I could say than that without giving the entire plot away. This is going to be a short review.
What can I say other than I did enjoy it. It is action-packed – the race against time and the audience having to guess which passenger is the terrorist. I can tell you, you will not expect who the culprit is. The trailer gave nothing away. You would guess from the trailer who it might be but it’s not who you think it is. But it is also entertaining. There were a few lines that incite laughter from us all.
Also, I must say, Liam Neeson is 62 years old and doing an action-packed movie. 62 years old. I do not know if I will be as fit and as able as he is at 62 years old. So, kudos to him. But then again, he was Zeus, Ra’s Al Ghul, Aslan, Qui Gon-Jinn. So, you know what? He’s a badass in my book.
Anyway, if you do not know what to watch this week and you want something you can enjoy while eating popcorn or nachos, this is the movie for you. I’ll give it a 3.5 out of 5.
The trailer…
