I spent the entire time watching the latest episode of S.H.I.E.L.D wondering the name of the guest star of the episode because he looked so familiar. Finally, after Googling (oh, Google, what would I do without you?), it’s Professor Quirrell! I can now have a peace of mind.
So, in the last episode, I mentioned how I am skeptical of Skye because at the very last scene, it seemed like she was not going to be loyal to the S.H.I.E.L.D. This episode, it continued with that plot and kept the audience guessing where her loyalty lies, especially when she was given the task to go undercover to infiltrate this episode’s “villain”, Ian Quinn’s mansion and rescue Professor Quirrell… I mean… Dr. Franklin Hall, who was kidnapped by Quinn to help him control the Earth’s gravity. Oooh… science. Of course, the innocent does not seem as innocent after all because that won’t make an interesting storyline. D’oh! Lo and behold, while the agents (including Skye) were going about their rescue mission, it was revealed that Professor Quirrel has Voldermort at the back of his head. No, I’m kidding. He plotted his own kidnapping because he has this warped idea that if he controlled the Earth’s gravity, it would save the entire planet. I don’t get it but he’s a little bit cuckoo in the head so… I mean, who wouldn’t when you had Voldermort at the back of your head, right? I’m sorry, I will stop with the Harry Potter thing!
How do I find this episode? It is enjoyable. Agent May is still grumpy but at least she’s not as grumpy as before and we will see her more badass self in future episodes now that she has seek permission to join in combat. We also found out a little background about Agent Ward as well as Skye. Previously, I saw a little chemistry between these two characters but now, it seems more brotherly-sisterly sort of relationship, which I don’t necessarily mind because I’m sick and tired of every single show having some form of romantic relationship. It would be nice once in a while to have a show that doesn’t have any romantic relationship storyline and purely of family and/or friendship. Anyway, I think we will see more of Professor… okay, okay, I’ll stop it… Dr. Franklin Hall (well, that was easy) after that last scene. Dr. Franklin Hall reminds me of Dr. Curt Connors from The Amazing Spiderman. It’ll be really interesting to see how the character will come back. Or what he’ll come back as… *cue ominous background music*
Promo for next episode…
