I had to breathe in and out for 5 minutes before posting my review for the latest episode of Teen Wolf. Right after I was done watching the episode, I literally curled up on the floor, clutching my Captain American plushie and slamming my fist on the floor, screaming: “Why, Jeff Davis, why?”
Review under the cut because of pain…
I seriously did not expect it at all. The whole episode was throwing us all over the place with exactly who is the Darach.
Right in the beginning, we saw Tara killed by the Darach and we finally got to see its face – the face that could induce nightmares. When Tara was killed, I knew it would not end up well with Stiles’ father. I just knew something will happen to him, some way, some how. But instead of getting straight to just stabbing my heart, the episode’s writer decided to painfully twist my heart.
Allison suspected her father was the serial killer and went about wanting to follow him around to catch him but was stopped by Isaac who was sent by Scott. Allison then showed Isaac who she suspected and found this sign that had hidden words in between: Healers, Philosophers, Virgins, Warriors, Guardians. And if you have watched the past episodes, you know that these were the victims of the sacrifices.
At the same time, back in the school, Lydia foresaw that their history teacher was taken by the Darach and told Jennifer about it but she wouldn’t believe her. Lydia then revealed that she could be a psychic of some sort.
Allison was told what happened to their history teacher and began to figure out alongside Isaac where the body might be. They got there, saw their history teacher being hung and the Darach, who was not Allison’s father because he appeared from his own hiding place and came out shooting at the Darach like a badass. It was revealed that he, too, was tracking the Darach and was close to getting it only to be interrupted by their appearance. Oops! Together, they figured out that the next target was the teachers and decided to head down to the recital.
In between all of this happening, Stiles was trying to explain to his father the whole truth about what was happening at Beacon Hills with the help of Cora. But before Cora could turn into a werewolf, she fainted, thus, not helping at all. It is weird that Cora seemed to not be healing. Werewolves was shown throughout this show that they could heal. I wonder what happened to Cora. Before trying to help Stiles, Cora was fighting with Aidan to seek revenge for what happened to Boyd. Aidan hit her on the head with a weight but that seemed to knock her out and hurt her real badly. I’m sure there’s something else behind it that we didn’t know. Yet.
In the hospital, Stiles was trying once again to explain what happened to his father but he refused to believe him. And once again, our hearts were broken when Stiles said: “Mom would have believed me.” Where is my Kleenex?
In the end, everyone convened at the recital, where Danny was playing in the band. There was a really cute moment between Danny and Ethan before the recital when Ethan was fixing Danny’s tie and feeding him a mint. Earlier in the episode, Aidan did notice that Ethan really did like Danny and threatened to harm Danny if Ethan did not end the relationship. I saw Ethan’s hesitation. I really do feel than Ethan would somehow switch sides. Is it because of Danny? Honestly, yes. He really does seem to love Danny. He did tell Danny to look for him first if anything should happen.
Anyway, Lydia told Scott that since she had the ability to find dead bodies, she wanted to stop denying what she could do and instead embrace that ability of hers to help stop the killing by having someone next to her who could actually end it before it started – Scott. Scott promised to do whatever he can. And there you have it, this is why Scott is the true Alpha.
Lydia then received a text message from Aidan to meet him elsewhere but we only found out later that Aidan lost his phone. Well, that didn’t sound good. Lydia was led into the damn empty school hallway and was knocked down by… Jennifer! Wait, what? Hold on a minute! It was Jennifer all along? What. the. hell?
Lydia woke up to Jennifer sharpening her knife, preparing to kill the girl who knew too much. When she was about to kill Lydia, Lydia screamed, which could only be heard by the werewolves, including Derek who was at the hospital with Cora. Yo, Derek, your girlfriend is the Darach. How do you feel, buddy? Anyway, so aside to the “I can see dead bodies” ability, Lydia could wail so long and loud which can only be heard by werewolves. Interesting… Jennifer, the Darach, called her the wailing woman, or a banshee. Lydia is a banshee? Well, shit.
So, Jennifer continued to go about her way to sacrifice Lydia when Stiles’ father came to her rescue. But Jennifer is the Darach and we all know this is not going to end well. Jennifer threw her knife at Stiles’ father. You think this is the end of him but no, Scott went to the rescue in his werewolf self. Well, now do you believe Stiles, Sheriff? Grrrr… Unfortunately, Jennifer was too strong for Scott and knocked him out. Jennifer then went after the Sheriff, revealed her Darach-ness and took him away. Poor Stiles was watching the entire thing, while being locked out of the room his father and best friend were in. Brilliant.
Oh, by the way, while Jennifer was trying to kill Lydia, someone else was killed in the recital – the pianist! (Danny saw the whole thing and I really hope that he ran to Ethan. He can keep you safe, Danny. RUN TO HIM!)Β What in the world is going on here? Isn’t Jennifer the Darach? Wasn’t she in the room trying to kill Lydia? The Darach has a power or something? What is happening? Jeff Davis, TELL ME! I need answers!
Conclusion: This episode is equal parts creepy, aggravating and shocking. I seriously did not see “Jennifer is the Darach” coming. I did not. Well, on hindsight, she did give the clue in to Scott and Stiles when she looked at both of them in the beginning of the episode while talking about knowing more than others. But still, it is so unexpected. And the ending just killed me. Throughout the episode, blood was draining out of my body while my heart was twisted upon and the ending just ripped my heart out of my ribcage and is now being blended and drunk by vampires. I seriously cannot wait for one week to find out what happened to Sheriff. Dear Jeff Davis, please do not make last week’s “I cannot lose both my parents” true. Please. My heart will not be able to take Stiles crying again.
