There are no words to describe how I feel after watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones. No words at all so I will just leave you with this gif to express how I feel and let me collect my thoughts before I write a coherent review of the episode.

I don’t read the book and I know this was written ages ago. There is nothing we can do about it because it’s a book that’s written ages ago. George R. R. Martin had written it and meant for it to happen and he has said that it was one of the most difficult scenes to write. Trust me, as a viewer, it is going to be one of the most difficult scenes to watch for any TV shows. If you are wondering, Kurt and Blaine’s break-up scene is one of those difficult scenes to watch.

Because what I am about to write would contain spoilers, I have to hide what I said under the cut…

I knew from the beginning that I watched the episode, even when I do not read the book, that something is going to happen to Robb and Catelyn. She said it right from the start but it still did not lessen the pain and shock to see it actually happen at the end. What I love about the Starks is also the direwolves and to see Robb’s direwolf getting shot and Arya witnessing that happening makes it harder to swallow.

In this episode, other things happen but I could not get past Robb and Catelyn being killed because now I wonder what will happen to the other Starks. Bran and Rickon are now separated because I felt that Bran knew what would happen if he didn’t, giving Rickon a chance to live, which was a real big responsibility for Bran to do. I don’t know what will happen to Arya now. Where will Sandor take her now? Jon seemingly escaped leaving Ygritte alone and I don’t know whether he knows that the direwolves are actually his brothers’ and whether that gave him a sign that his brothers are still alive. Sansa is stuck at King’s Landing now.

My brain is a mess right now and that is actually a good thing for a show to do. I’m a reviewer and I have to be objective and throw aside my fangirl feelings for a while. The episode was great. There is progress for my Queen, Daenerys. She’s been doing everything right and things are looking good for her. And the whole Starks storyline just left me broken-hearted but it’s a good thing. For a show to elicit such emotions is not easy.

This episode was a great beginning for the finale. The shocking scene at the end was so well-done that there was no music at the end for the first time in the season. It was just silent and I love it. It feels like a one-minute silence for fans who just watched it and signifies the shock that they feel.

Anyway, I may be broken-hearted right now but really, it’s a great episode all-in-all and I can’t wait for the finale.

Siti is just simply a Singaporean girl who has nothing better to do than watch movies and TV shows, listen to music and read books because, let's face it, what else can she, a non-adventurer girl, do in her spare time in this small island? This blog is for her to post her more "professional" reviews of movies, TV shows, books and music and as such, this blog is not spoiler-free so be warned. She may tend to get a little fangirly but fangirling is part of her life that she would not like to get rid of. When she is not sitting on her bottom doing this, you can find her going to work as a project manager in an online research panel company. However, that is the more boring (if that is even remotely possible) side of her life that she does not want to ever share.
